The BWRC Steering Committee has recently become more focused on promoting best practice in teaching and training of wildlife rehabilitation.

In 2006 the awarding body for the BTEC National programmes in Animal Management – Edexcel – approached the BWRC to help update the syllabus for the Wildlife Rehabilitation unit of its National programmes in Animal Management. This is the most widely available course on wildlife rehabilitation in the UK. A survey of FE colleges delivering this course has shown that many are interested in collaborating with us to improve their teaching in this area.

Following the launch of the revised syllabus in September 2007, this section of the website has been created to host teaching materials to support the BTEC syllabus (although these may also be useful in other situations).

If, as a lecturer or a rehabilitator, you would like to contribute any resources (examples of suitable resources are shown alongside) to allow other teaching professionals to use them, please contact me - terri@bwrc.org.uk.
